REMINGTON PARK FUTURITY HEADLINES HUGE STAKES PROGRAM ON SATURDAY NIGHT

OKLAHOMA CITY - April 17, 2019 – The restricted Grade 1, $895,210 Remington Park Futurity, for 2-year-old Oklahoma-breds, will be the featured event Saturday night during a program of great stakes racing.

The Remington Park Futurity, at 330 yards, will be the 10th of 12 on Saturday night. The first race is at 6pm with the Remington Park Futurity slated for 10:01pm. All times are Central.

Lota Shakin Goin On was the top qualifier from the first night of Remington Park Futurity trials on April 5 while Uptowne Babe posted the fastest trial time for the second night of qualification on April 6. Both evenings of trials produced five finalists for the lucrative final for Oklahoma-breds.

Remington Park odds-maker Jerry Shottenkirk has tabbed Uptowne Babe as the morning-line favorite at 3-1 odds. Uptowne Babe is owned by Sam Green of Monett, Mo., trained by Guillermo Valdivia and ridden by Rolando Raudales. Raudales was in the irons when this 2-year-old filly by Mr Jess Perry, out of the Fdd Dynasty mare, Ms Southern Dynasty, flew from the gate and beat the field in her heat by daylight, an amazing 2-3/4 lengths. Her time was 16.857 seconds for the 330 yards for a speed index of 89, the best of both nights by five points. Uptowne Babe was bred in Oklahoma by her owner.

The second best of the 10 qualifiers for the finals was 84 by Lota Shakin Goin On. An interesting rider move on that one. Leading jockey James Flores qualified Lota Shakin Goin On for the finals, but chose to ride Liarliar Hocksonfire instead, who registered an 83 speed index. No rider was named on Lota Shakin Goin On at entry time. Lota Shakin Goin On is 5-1 and Liarliar Hocksonfire is 8-1.

Second favorite in the morning line was Celebriti at 4-1, a Josue Ponce-trained filly, ridden by Jesse Levario. Although Celebriti only won her trial with a 75 speed index, it’s hard to ignore the fact that Levario has had three mounts this meet and won with all three while Ponce is three-for-four in making it to the winner’s circle.

The field, by program and post-position order, for the Remington Park Futurity with trainer, jockey and morning-line odds:

  1. • A Tres Of Sign: Jason Olmstead, Cristian Esqueda, 20-1
  2. • Celebriti: Josue Ponce, Jesse Levario, 4-1
